The Local Voices survey is now open for communities near our Arizona operations

The Local Voices survey gives people aged 18 and over who live near or work at Freeport-McMoRan's operations in North America the chance to directly share their experiences, views and priorities with the company.

In North America, Freeport operates nine operations in three States:

  • Bagdad, Miami, Morenci, Safford, and Sierrita in Arizona;
  • Chino Mine and Tyrone Mine in New Mexico; and
  • Climax Mine and Henderson Mine and Mill in Colorado.

Climax Molybdenum, a subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan, operates the Colorado sites.

A Local Voices survey was conducted for the New Mexico & Colorado Operations in June 2026.

The survey open now relates to the operations in Arizona.

Conducted by Voconiq, the Local Voices community engagement survey gives communities around the world the opportunity to confidentially express their views and experiences with companies in their area. The insights gathered help companies and communities build stronger relationships.

Freeport-McMoRan has engaged Voconiq to conduct an analysis of community attitudes toward its operations. The insights gained will help guide how Freeport supports, invests and engages with local communities.

Each time a survey is completed, a donation is made to local community organizations of choice. This is one way of thanking community members for their time and insights, while also helping local organizations continue their important work in the community.

While Freeport may not be able to address every concern raised, the company will gain a better understanding of what matters most to the local community.

Local Voices is a specialized service offered by Voconiq which captures a full spectrum of opinion at a grassroots level around an industrial operation. It is a way for organizations to conduct a long-term regular analysis of community attitudes to the company’s operations in and around specific communities. It gives the communities neighboring the operations a voice that is being heard by the company and is helping to inform business decision-making.

A detailed 'anchor' survey (or baseline) is conducted to understand the key trust drivers in the community, followed by regular 'pulse' surveys to track changes over time.

In addition, a donation is made to local not-for-profit groups through the Voconiq Local Voices Community Reward Program. Community members can assign e-tokens to one or more community groups registered with Voconiq.
