The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) manages the electricity and gas systems and markets across Australia. AEMO is also a transmission project developer engaged in the planning of new electricity transmission infrastructure. To complement the engagement AEMO's team do across their various projects and operations, AEMO has engaged Voconiq to use our Local Voices program to assess and monitor community attitudes to electricity transmission infrastructure development.
The first Local Voices survey has now been completed. Thank you to everyone who participated. Our team is busy analysing the data and we look forward to sharing the insights with you and the community soon. Watch this space.
If you missed out this time, but would like to know when future surveys are conducted, please register your details below and we will inform you when the next survey opens:
About Local Voices
Voconiq Local Voices is a unique community engagement program based on research conducted over a decade by Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, and aims to increase understanding, build trust and strengthen relationships.
Local Voices provides communities a way to express their views and experiences directly to AEMO, and help them engage on the issues that matter most to the community. While AEMO may not be able to solve every issue raised, they will be better informed on the things that matter most to your local community.
Surveys are managed by Voconiq so all responses are confidential. No personal information is shared with AEMO. Results are shared back with the community, here on this website, so everyone can see and harness the power of the insights to support stronger community outcomes.
How we work with you

Community Rewards
We support the communities we work in through the Voconiq Local Voices Community Rewards Program.
Every time a survey is completed, community members can assign a donation. It's our way of thanking you for your time and insights and supporting those groups so that they can continue their great work in the community.
Participation helps community groups you care about!
Please note that registering for Voconiq Local Voices Rewards is a great way for local community groups to raise much-needed funds. It does not represent any association with, or an endorsement of, Voconiq Local Voices or AEMO in any way.
